Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act

The Hearing Aid Assistance Tax Credit Act is currently being considered in the House and Senate. If enacted, this bill would provide a $500 per ear federal income tax credit to eligible purchasers of hearing aids. Although eligibility requirements differ between the House bill and Senate bill, most hearing aid buyers would qualify for the credit under either version.

It is estimated that some 32 million Americans need a hearing aid to treat their hearing loss, but only 22% of those who could benefit from them actually use them.
